"The Back" or "The Back Places" is the collective term we use for undiscovered layers in our system. These layers are visualized as a foggy place far beyond what we can currently reach, with folks occasionally coming out to talk to us, usually being coy about where they're from, and vanishing back into the mists.
Function
Very little is known about the function and architecture of the Back Places due to the fact that they're currently unreachable. The most we know is that they are rather expansive and the members there only get the most vague updates on our life; this vagueness is the reason residents of the Back Places sometimes come out to talk with us - they're seeking more in-depth information about what's going on with our outer life.
