The Fronting Void is a nebulous space that connects the various front rooms of the system. It's possible to travel through the void between front rooms to reach different areas, but it's not advised to do so unless there's a person in the front room you're going to that you can look for specifically. Some new arrivals will appear in the Front Void, though this usually only happens when they've formed from stress. The Front Void is theoretically infinite, and getting lost in it can lead to one ending up in truly strange locations.
Function
The Front Void is the space all headmates occupy when interacting with, or just watching, the outer world. There are two separate ways to access it; being in a frontroom, and opening a viewport. Frontrooms are in fixed locations on their layers, usually somewhere centralized or otherwise easy to reach. Viewports are able to be opened by any member of the system with front permission, and allows members to watch the happenings of the frontspace without actively entering a front room, often able to "sneak around behind" other fronters due to the unobtrusive method. The drawback to viewports is that those using viewports are only able to control the body if there's no one in a front room piloting the body, as it's a much looser connection to front that is easily overridden.
