Skycrest is a sprawling metropolis of stylized buildings, plazas, and wide-open spaces for crowds to maneuver through. Skycrest is purported to be the second largest city in the system, behind the City of Yellowed Brick. Where the City of Yellowed Brick tends towards tight streets and tall buildings, Skycrest spreads out widely over the landscape, with many large thoroughfares and parks for people to congregate in.
Skycrest is an interesting mix between modern and mythical, with places closer to the center of the city taking a more modern look and the outskirts housing a lot more fantasy-like buildings. Those who live closer the center are more likely to live in apartments, while those on the outskirts often have full houses to themselves. As a large portion of Skycrest's population is sourced from webcomics, the city has an almost drawing-like quality to it.
Function
Skycrest serves as a place where folks can relax without much restriction, letting their hair down so to speak. As the second-largest city in the system, it tends to be full of artistic expression, with graffiti popping up on random buildings all the time and artworks being displayed everywhere. Some people find the place too overwhelming with how bustling it is, but many folks have plans to retire there when - or if - the time comes.
Skycrest also acts as a center for commerce, being connected to several smaller or more spread out layers that have less access to the goods from other places. Many people make daytrips to the city regularly, even if just to see the new and varied offerings for sale.
